Welcome to my website: Foxglove Jewelry Designs. I appreciate your visit and interest. By way of introduction, my name is Diana Holmes. I am a fairly new member to the beading world having begun only about three years ago when a friend gave me bunch of beads and asked me to make something from them. Previously, I had done lots of repair and restringing work, many times using extra creativity when there weren't enough beads. Word spread among friends and co-workers about my work, and finally I bought a few beads, was given others, and eventually strung some necklaces. Soon I began wearing my creations and brought them in to work for others to see. The result, of course, was someone said, "Would you sell these?" and "Would you make me something like that?" So it began. With the encouragement and help of family and friends, I have attended craft fairs, sold to friends, family, and co-workers and am now on line (much thanks to my son).
I don't have lots of recognition or awards, but I use quality gemstone beads, crystals, pearls, other natural beads, and various metal beads. I like to specialize in necklace/ earring sets because I don't like buying one part and having to search for a match. However, I do make earrings and some bracelets that sell separately. I also tend toward classic designs that can be worn daily in the everyday lives of most women and in the work place.
Because my own ears and skin are sensitive to certain metals, I use sterling silver, gold filled, or copper clasps, findings and ear wires. Earrings are for pierced ears, but clip-on styles could be made.
